Hand woven fabrics designed by myself, inspired by movement. Unique and individual, these are pieces of art which are used for window blinds, hanging partitions or wall hangings.
About Me
I'm a whirlwind of colour and texture. A freelance writer, a textile and fashion designer, an editor... a jack of all trades if you will. I have a loom on which I weave and develop new ideas and designs, textures and colourways, a job where I design jeans for the European markets as well as that of Australia & NZ, another job where I'm the editor of a women's magazine in Pakistan, I blog on the side and in my free time I train and spend time with my dog! Having worked across a variety of professions, with academic training in Woven Textiles and some professional training in Fashion Journalism I find myself to be rather well-rounded. Currently working in the garment manufacturing industry, my role is to liaise with international brands and buyers to design and develop ideas, sketches and pieces that cater to the needs of western markets. Having worked as the Fashion Editor at Women's Own Magazine, I am aware of the latest trends in fashion across the globe and especially within Pakistan. Not only am I adept in analysing and assessing the prevailing styles but am also familiar with designers and the market that they cater too. Additionally I have set up my own work-space/studio in Lahore where I work on my 16-shaft dobby, hoping to expand in the coming years and feature my own line of homewares, interior & fashion accessories and trims and details for garments. In the long run I see myself being a Fashion & Textile designer selling worldwide under my label, Woven Wonders.
