I have recently set up Carapace, a bespoke Design and Engineering service. It is my experience that companies who choose to outsource some or all of their Creative Design, CAD engineering, Prototyping and Manufacturing, find themselves saving money, meeting deadlines more easily and having pressure taken off their own team. Carapace offers a bespoke service. I work closely with clients to suit their individual needs, timings and fluctuating workloads. We are a small team of experts with an extensive mix of experience across a range of industries including Public Transport Infrastructure, POS/POP, Retail, Furniture and Automotive. We are flexible and can step in at anytime, whether it be to discuss an idea, create a simple concept, engineer a number of components or to manage an entire project through sourcing, costing, QC and supply. I am by trade and qualification, a Technical 3D Design Engineer and have over 10 years working experience in this field. For the two years prior to setting up Carapace, I was a Manager at Vox SP, a Design Engineering company specialising in point of sale display and retail equipment. During this time I oversaw the Design, Engineering and QC functions of the company, had overall charge of the engineering team and worked closely with clients across the EMEA, US and ANZ markets, including PepsiCo, Stanley, Black & Decker, DeWALT, Hozelock and TfL. Before that I was a Technical Designer for Trueform, a large manufacturer of Transportation Infrastructure products for the UK and North America. I have extensive knowledge of a variety of material and process both in the UK and China. The majority of products I have brought to market are sheet metal, wire work and injection mouldings. I have also worked with plastics (CNC, moulding & Vacuum forming) and wood (sheet and sawn sections). I am professional and discreet. I value my clients and their individual requirements.
