About Me
With over 15+ years in the backpack, bag, and luggage industry, and 3 years as freelancer for apparel products and tool bags. I am proud to be a passionate and knowledgeable expert in all aspects of product development, material sourcing, and large-scale production management across Asia — Vietnam, Indonesia, China, Bangladesh, Thailand, Korea, and Taiwan. I have worked for 6+ years as a buyer (VF Corporation, responsible for Eastpak), 3 years as freelancer, 1 year in third-party representation, and 8+ years as merchandiser at the largest and most well-respected bag factories in the world (Pungkook, Park Corporation). As a buyer work, I lead the development and NPI (new product introduction) for Eastpak products and managing factories across Vietnam, Indonesia, China, and Bangladesh — my team delivers millions of bags per year. My responsibilities include overseeing all sample developments, driving contract manufacturer (CM) vendor performance, leading material sourcing initiatives, and production follow-up. Including quality assurance (QA), cost reduction, tariff optimization, and solving complex manufacturing issues. In my leadership role at VF Corporation, I collaborate closely with cross-functional, global teams to bridge the requirements from headquarters in the USA with operations across Asia, to ensure that all products meet the company's rigorous quality standards and mission of the organisation. Prior to VF, I worked as a Senior Merchandiser at the Wheel Far East Representative Office in Vietnam. Wheel is a third-party, representing Buyers to work with vendors my brands— Sandqvist and Mission Critical — responsible for full-cycle product development, production, and all the way to final shipment. I also worked as QA for inline inspection and final inspection when needed. Before Wheel Far East, I worked as a Merchandiser Manager at Park Corporation leading the Eastpak account, managing their development team and instructing the factory to ensure production was smooth and efficient. The order volume increased significantly after I joined and Wheel became one of the biggest vendors for Eastpak. Before Park Corporation, I worked at Pungkook Corporation for 6 years as Merchandising Manager. Pungkook is the biggest and most well-respected pack factory in the industry. At Pungkook, I was the development lead for Eastpak, Camelbak, Lululemon, and Cabela’s as their main point of contact for buyers, handling all processes from building the new styles to production, quality control and shipment. Throughout my career, I have worked on a wide variety of products, including backpacks, luggage, accessories, duffels, waist bags, fanny packs, skiing bags, toiletry cases, lunch bags, tool bags, apparel products, and beyond —specializing in Polyester, Nylon, Canvas, PU, PU Leather and Leather goods. I believe that my extensive experience on both the buying & factory side, combined with my proven ability to lead teams and drive successful projects.
