URBAN HUB | Theater, underground and student housing
The plan of interventions involves an urban redevelopment project through the transformation of the Naples' Montesanto underground station into a more usable and integrated space with new social resonance functions, such as a theatrical workshop and a student house, which reactivate the centrality of the place, together with the station, creating three functional barycentres. The redesign of the routes multiplies the system of the square on several levels, making it a place that does not exhaust its function in the obligatory path of arrival and departure but also invites the enjoyment of events framed in the urban scene. The redevelopment project involves the reorganization of an area of 7,400 square meters, in which the only new intervention will be the student’s home.
