I am excited to offer my skills as an intelligent and versatile translator of Russian. I studied Russian for 4 years at the School of Slavonic and East European Studies, University College London and lived in Russia from September 2007 to July 2008. Graduating in 2009 with a high 2:1. Since graduating I have translated for: Shira Pinson, a freelance film producer, translating Russian audio footage for documentaries filmed in the Ukraine. This required accurate translation of both specialist (orthodox religious) and colloquial language, intended for a educated British target audience. HealthProm, a London based charity working in Eastern Europe and Central Asia, I translate documents from health charities and special educational centres in Russia and Central Asia. This requires accurate translation of specialist medical and educational language as well as cultural knowledge of Central Asia. BEARR Trust, a UK-based organisation working in Russia, Eastern Europe, Central Asia and the South Caucasus. I translate regular news bulletins focusing on vulnerabel groups in society for the news section of BEARR's website. This requires accurate translation of journalistic articles and political vocabulary. Firefly Kids Inc., a charity based in the USA working with disadvantaged children and families in Russia to prevent child institutionalisation.
