This triptych was created to describe myself using three of the nationalities from which I am formed. I chose German from my father's side, and Chippewa and Irish from my mother's side. I wanted to more deeply explore the pieces of myself in order to come to a greater understanding of who I really am. I feel like these parts of my heritage have had more effects on my life than I've ever realized, which is why they have become so important to me. I gave each picture a look of antiquity in order to represent how it goes all the way back to when I began.

I designed a number of logos for a start-up company called Tailored Computing Solutions in Wichita, Kansas. I wanted to create similar designs with small variations in order to come up with the perfect design to fit the customer's needs.

Logo Design

This brochure is made up fully of items created in Photoshop and was itself put together in InDesign. It describes on one side the various bodies of water, which are accompanied by creative pictures. The other side describes the three states of water and artistically devised molecular structures.

These are images of myself taken by my former photography teacher. We retouched these photos using a variety of techniques in Photoshop. We covered all blemishes, removed wrinkles, and sharpened the eyes and the eyelashes to begin. We learned how to whiten the whites of the eyes along with the teeth, and also how to smooth out the lips. We even eventually learned how to add makeup, alter hair color and eye color, and how to add contour to the face, as shown in the second image.

My concept for this project was the beauty of skin, how its subtle nuances create a stunning contrast and its ability to form an individualistic shape with a universal quality. I added gold paint to sections of skin to emphasize its natural glow, de-saturating the rest of the skin so the contrast is strikingly clear. The gold is symbolic of the natural beauty that skin possesses that seems to often be overlooked as such a normal part of life. But when you really look closely at skin, you will see its unique qualities, varying with each and every person, and beautiful in its rawness.
