I’m a recruiter, but what does that even mean?
Simply speaking, I like to think of myself as a career matchmaker. I have a role to fill and try to find its perfect fit.
And how do I do this? Searching, screening, and constantly talking to people.
I don’t simply wait for the perfect candidates, I search for them. This is one way that I really contribute to my team and the hiring managers I work with. I act fast and always ensure quality, above anything else.
On the candidate side I pride myself on offering an exceptional level of customer service (thank you to the years of working in retail). Also, I try to contact as many applicants (and sought-out candidates) as possible. Even if not necessarily qualified (on paper) for a position, a recruiter can never really be certain about one's capabilities without first engaging him/her in a conversation.
Because you never know, that one resume missing all the "key words" ATSs screen for, may very well be our next purple squirrel.
