High precision power monitoring system - full design (electrical schematic, PCB routing, firmware, basic PC application) - A general-purpose power monitor system with 64 channels of measurement, each with voltage, current and power sensing. Precision of under 1mA for small currents, range up to 12A per channel, with extension possibility. Each channel has peak-value retention and alarm threshold for all measured values. The measuring method is shunt resistor - Each channel is handled by a dedicated IC, for fast high sampling rates, and fast reaction, and can be set to alert on over-voltage, over-current and over-power conditions - Interface composed of a graphical mono-color LCD, with touchscreen, and USB connection. - Initial application of the system was measuring power consumption in PC systems, on each wire coming from the power supply.
