Full-Color Video LED display panel
Prototype RGB LED full-color video display panel with controller network - full design (electrical schematic, PCB routing, firmware) - First generation based on LED modules with 4 x 8 pixels with 30mm pitch for outdoor use, with 5mm LEDs, in R1G2B1 pixel configuration. - Second generation based on LED modules with 4 x 8 pixels with 10mm pitch for indoor use, with 0603 LEDs, in R1G2B1 pixel configuration - Various video input sources (RGB, Component, Composite, S-Video) through the Video Controller - System performance reaches 100 FPS or 100 Hz refresh, with 24 bit colors The system is composed of a main VideoController, and several NodeControllers, each of them controlling several LED modules. The VideoController is based on Xilinx Spartan3E FPGA core, with a VDEC1 video decoder board. A Dual-Port RAM architecture allows it to have independent video clocks for input signal and panel control signals. Multiple serial transceivers connect the unit to all the NodeControllers.
