## BIO
Accomplished professional software engineer with over 17 years' experience. In my jobs, I have been responsible for product design, development, documentation, testing, installation, and training. I have extensive experience in MS-DOS and Windows software development, including the developement of applications, services, TSRs, and device drivers. While not an electrical engineer, I have considerable knowledge in digital electronics and have been involved in the hardware design of several microcontroller-based projects.
**Education**
* **1991-1993 - University of Texas at Dallas, Texas**
Studied for Bachelor of Science in Computer Science Degree
Algorithms, Data structures, Networking, Calculus, Linear algebra, Operating Systems, Physics, Automata theory, Digital Electronics, Object Oriented Design, etc.
* **1989-1991 - Richland College, Richardson, Texas**
Earned pre-requisites for BSCS degree. Studied IBM/360 assembler language, pascal, C, and other computer programming languages.
**Professional Experience**
* **2001-Present - Rutherford Graphic Products - Senior Software Engineer**
Designed and developed touchscreen GUI applications for closed-loop color control of printing presses and digital ink key preset systems. Reverse-engineered communication links to dozens of printing press control systems, involving RS-232, RS-485, Arcnet, Ethernet, etc. Developed embedded software to interface Windows applications with printing press hardware. Examples of some of the projects I have been involved with include: PHP-driven web site to provide remote access and reporting to press control systems, customized FTP server and integrated FTP client software, Postscript interpreter to parse industry-standard CIP3/4 file formats, TIFF reader, PNG file reader, PostgreSQL database frontend, serial port eavesdropper/logger.
* **1993-2001 - Tobias Associates, Inc - Senior Software Engineer**
Designed and developed control software for hand-held densitometers, scanning densitometers, printing press ink-key preset systems.
* **1989-1993 - Dlugosz Software, Plano, Texas - Software Developer**
Co-authored "ViewPoint", one of the first commerically-available C++ object-oriented graphics libraries for the MS-DOS platform. Developed high-performance device drivers for VGA, XGA, and numerous 2-D graphics accelerators. Co-authored the "C Editor Toolbox", a code library for developing windowed custom text editors.
