Design Gourmet - Book cover and layout
My client wanted cover and layout to an art book that brings together chefs cooking, renowned architects and Brazilian celebrities. The pictures were taken by photographer Gabriel Matarazzo and have saturated and contrasting colors. I did a hard cover that uses the very architectural iconography to illustrate a stove (visible only in high relief), linking the two main audiences book: cooking lovers and interior design. In the layout, I used a typeface (Helvetica Neue) simple ways to highlight the wonderful images. I chose a color palette for each test in order to highlight the colors of photographs and serve as a setting for the reader. The result was a book signed by critics or listed among the reference works for interior designers.
About Me
I have worked as a graphic designer for 15 years, the last nine of which have been as art director. My focus is primarily in publishing, graphic design and corporate brand identity. I was a finalist in several editions of the Jabuti Award (the highest award in Brazilian publishing), in the categories ”Cover" and "Graphic Design".
