Was an apprentice under the eminent painter Sri Rabin Mondal. for a few years. · Involved in research documentation of the heritage buildings of Calcutta, for Edision Eiffel publication, Belgium. · From 1992 to 94, engaged as a free-lance reporter for ABP Group in a research work on Satyajit Ray’s Filmography “Panchali Theke Oscar” (From Pather Panchali to Oscar). · From 2004, working as a freelance journalist in Doyinik Statesman. · Feb 2005 – July 2005, worked in Sketch Advertising. · Selected in the 70th. Annual Art Exhibition, Academy of Fine Arts 2005. Awards : 2005 : “Sangbad Pratidin SRIJON SAMMAN” - Award for the Excellence in Bengali Advertisement, 1st Runner-up Silver Trophy for the Best Public Service Campaign in Bengali. 2004 : Felicited as “Calcuttan of the Week” ( 3 June ) by The Telegraph for the best environmental and animal right campaign. 2004 : Best Poster Design for the World Environment Day 2004 , by W.B.P.C.B. (Govt. of W.B.) 2002 : Nominated in “PRATIDIN SRIJON SAMMAAN” ( Award for the Excellence in Bengali Advertisement ) in the ‘Public Service Campaign’ category. 2001 : Runner-up trophy for the “Best Tableaux of the Year”, for designing the Republic Day Tableaux for Webel, Kolkata. 1999 : Runner-up trophy for the “Best Tableaux of the Year”. For designing the Republic Day Tableaux for PEOPLE FOR ANIMALS Calcutta. Areas of Interest : Environmental and Wildlife activist. Keen interest in : Cartoon and Animation films, Photography,Typography, Extra Terrestrial Intelligence.Since my childhood I have a keen interest in the graphic works of Satyajit Ray. My own city Calcutta (now Kolkata) remains my favorite subject! It's heritage buildings, it's past history and it's "Babu" culture have always attracted me to explore the past of this city. Keen interest in old Bengali songs like “Tappa” and “ Puratoni Gaan”.
