The goal of this project was to develop statistical models to accurately forecast yield of wheat grain based on analysis of agronomic and geographical conditions. Techniques such as multiple regression, multivariate analysis (MANOVA), correlation, and paired-t test procedures were used to explore, and identify best-fit models that can accurately predict wheat yield. Best fit model selection was performed using backward elimination and forward propagation procedures. Designed an Access Database to gather data required to analyze Wheat yields in different Dept. of Horticulture, Forestry, & Recreation Resources Jan’95 – Sept’98 Research Assistant Project: Drought Resistance of Perennial Rye grass cultivars Responsible for design, implementation, and management and analyzing the results. This project investigated the stress physiology of Perennial Rye grass cultivars typically used on golf course fairways. Critical survival responses (leaf moisture, root length density, % viable area) were analyzed using Analysis of Variance, and correlations were determined with environmental factors (air temperature, soil temperature and moisture, and amount of precipitation) Data collection, management, analysis, and interpretation KSU Student Family Housing Jan’97 – Sept’98 Student Manager MasterS Project: Data mining Tool tO estimate the performance of decision tree algorithms Developed a statistical analysis tool for the comparison of various machine learning algorithms (Decision tree learning algorithms like ID3, C4.5, and OC1) for their performance in terms of the Mean Square Error produced as a result of testing, training, and bootstrapping the algorithms on the data sets. The tool compares the data sets, both commercial and artificial, and performance of the algorithms. The GUI and the algorithms were implemented in Java.
