I'm a cultural anthropologist, historian, Jill of All Trades, and Master of Quite a Few. For over 30 years I've traveled and written about my experiences in Alaska, Canada, the Lower 49 and Mexico. The peoples I've met have taught me about the intense durability of our species and the infinite yearning within us for for knowledge. I've been reading fluently since the age of three years, having been patiently taught by my father's younger sister. My first published story, at age 13 in 1969, was a modern version of Cinderella, except that both she and the Prince were far from enchantingly charming. I've written steadily as part of my career and as a hobby, and as life-saving mental health therapy, between that year and today. In 1991 I was the recipient of the Beck Award, Alaska's top literary achievement for outstanding accomplishments in scholarly research articles, biographies, fiction, non-fiction and scientific abstracts. I type 120 wmp and go through three to four keyboards a year due to sheer wear and tear caused by the mind-boggling volume I hammer out. Most of my life I've bounced from job to job, but continued to steadily write. I consider writing the main paragraph of my life while jobs were the margins. I've tended bar and danced on it quite a few times but mostly I managed to stay on the stage. I've run offices for doctors, lawyers and Indian chiefs, engineers, oilmen and real estate tycoons. I've sold cars and waterbeds, drugs and diamonds and earned master sales awards, Rolodex watches and trips to Vegas along the way. One of my bosses in Texas once said I could sell ice to Eskimos - I moved to Alaska and found out he was right. I've traveled and owned a travel business, been in construction and demolition, owned a talent agency for performing artists and an interior design shop specializing in window treaments. I'm a single mom by choice, widowed & bereaved mom by tragedy, foster mom by chance and birthmom by necessity, but mostly I'm a mom who loves and is loved. I'm a perfectionist who understands the need for dust bunnies. I am currently available full-time as a content writer, research expert, date entry processor, fact-checker, and proofreader. I am well-educated and well-versed in the use of primary, secondary and tertiary sources and precision methodology. I am known for strict adherence to deadlines.
