DESCRIPTION OF DUTIES
I am responsible for designing high speed Tester Interface boards of different types (like Ultra-Flex, Integra-Flex, J750, 93K Agilent, Altera Bench Test Boards and other different types of catalyst boards etc) that include different types of high speed Test Boards and Probe Cards for different surface mount and through-pin devices. All these PCB design solutions which include project creation (i-e. translating customer’s pin list and different specs to PCAD and Concept HDL schematic and then to Allegro PCB layout), library management (component development includes schematic symbols and their landing pattern) , physical placement, and implementing different routing methodologies to meet different high speed constraints like controlled impedance, EMI/EMC reduction (cross talk, mutual capacitance and inductance) through specific routing constraints like Physical and Net spacing constraints, daisy chain routing (shorted groups), match length, differential pair routing, and setting of power planes as per customer specification. Soft wares that are used for this purpose are Allegro PCB Editor 15.5.1 and PCAD (Accel) 2006.
I have also discovered some of the important short cuts in Allegro using scripts due to which I was awarded a certificate for Exploring tools and then some additional responsibilities like conducting training was given to me and I started conducting training to other experienced designers who are not aware of these tools and then again next year I was awarded a certificate for giving training on these tools later next year. I was also awarded the best designer of the year certificate.
