This is a very simple e commerce site selling one product, a G2 brake caliper paint kit, offered in 13 colours. There are no complex catalogues or multiple product types. The goal is to make the site look more polished, perform well and convert better without turning it into a huge project. Objective: Modernize the look and feel of the site, improve performance and SEO, ensure bilingual support in English and French, and shift sales away from Amazon to our own platform. 1. Priority fixes • Correct typos and grammar on the footer and shipping page. • Adjust the product page layout by moving the price, colour selector and “add to cart” area above the long description. • Add bullet point highlights and an accessible “What’s in the kit” section with icons. • Replace the colour dropdown with clickable colour swatches. When a user selects a colour, show the correct product image. In one picture, the color is not correct, I will provide or edit the Lime Green photo so it matches the real colour. • Enable WooCommerce reviews and allow customers to upload before and after photos. Add a separate gallery button or page showcasing customer projects. • Add trust badges such as “Made in the USA,” “Authorized Canadian distributor” and secure checkout, and enable payment accelerators like Apple Pay and Google Pay. • Add a pop up on the home page to capture email addresses, such as a sign up or exit intent pop up. 2. Design and content improvements • Modernize the overall design with cleaner fonts, a cohesive colour palette and consistent spacing. Remove the bland section on the home page. • Replace that section with an embedded video on the front page. I will supply the video to embed. • Update the home page hero with an engaging image or video and a strong call to action. • Improve the contact page. Use a more professional font for the heading, include full contact details such as address, phone, email and business hours, add an embedded map and ensure the page looks good in both languages. • Update the Facebook link so it points to the correct G2 Caliper Paint page. Double check all other social links. • Review all other pages for consistency and professionalism, and fix any broken links or misaligned elements. • I will supply any additional text needed, including legal copy, shipping details and product description tweaks. • add a gallery button to the site so we can display photos of our clients’ completed projects. 3. Bilingual and accessibility requirements • Maintain separate English and French content without using machine translation. Ensure the language switcher is always visible and implement proper hreflang tags. • Make sure all text, buttons and alternative text for images are correctly translated. • Fix accessibility issues, improve colour contrast, give links descriptive names and add alt text to images. 4. SEO and discoverability • Add unique meta titles and descriptions to each page, as some are currently missing. • Implement JSON LD schema markup for products. • Convert images to WebP and serve appropriately sized, high resolution images. Enable lazy loading. • Minify and remove unused CSS, reduce duplicated or legacy JavaScript and avoid render blocking resources. • Configure caching, enable GZIP or Brotli compression and set long cache lifetimes on static assets. • Implement a CDN and ensure compatibility with PHP 8.2 or higher. • Add AI friendly tags and metadata so tools like ChatGPT and other assistants can find the product easily. • Fix best practice issues flagged by PageSpeed and GTmetrix, eliminate console errors, remove deprecated APIs and ensure proper Content Security Policy headers. 5. Shipping, policies and legal • Rebuild the Shipping and Taxes page into a clear table showing rates and delivery times for each province and territory. • Create proper Terms and Conditions and Disclaimer pages in English and French using the text I provide, and link them via the existing footer buttons. 6. Marketing and ads • Improve overall SEO and speed scores to achieve an A on GTmetrix, with at least 90 on PageSpeed for desktop and 70 for mobile. • Once the site is optimized, assist with setting up Google Ads targeted to Canadian shoppers. Provide guidance on campaign structure and budget and, if possible, walk me through the setup via screen sharing rather than completely taking over the ads. • Add a blog or resource section with bilingual articles such as how to paint calipers and colour selection tips to drive organic traffic. 7. Final review and testing • Test the entire site in both languages to ensure every page functions properly. • Verify that the correct colour and language are displayed consistently. • Run multiple speed and usability tests using GTmetrix and PageSpeed Insights and implement any remaining recommendations to achieve top scores. • Provide a short walk through or documentation so I understand how to update content and manage the site in the future.
