Customizable WordPress News Portal

I’m building a WordPress-based news portal focused on Politics and I want the entire site—from front-end layout to back-end controls—tailored to my brand rather than relying on a premade theme. The finished product must be something I can expand easily with no-code tweaks inside the admin dashboard. ESSENTIAL FEATURES • Content focus: Politics (the only live category at launch, but the structure should let me add more later). • Multimedia inside articles: Images, videos, and occasional audio clips must embed smoothly and load fast. • Navigation tools for readers: a clear Categories menu, an intuitive Search bar, and an automatically updating Recent Posts section. BUILD & TECH NOTES The project calls for a lightweight custom theme or a heavily customised child theme, clean PHP templates, and Gutenberg-compatible blocks. Please integrate best-practice SEO settings, schema markup for news, and modular widgets so I can turn sections on or off from the admin area without touching code. DELIVERABLES 1. Fully responsive WordPress site installed on my server. 2. Custom theme (or child theme) with the three navigation elements and multimedia support configured. 3. Admin documentation or short video walk-through showing me how to add articles, switch options, and publish updates. ACCEPTANCE CRITERIA • GTmetrix performance grade B or better. • All multimedia embeds display correctly on mobile and desktop. • I can create a new political article, assign it to the Politics category, add an image, a video, and an audio clip, and see it appear immediately in the Recent Posts feed.
