Hi there. I am expert in developing wpf applcation and can connect directly to the source as xlsx files and can effectively open, search and even update cells if necessary. Would also keep a backup internally in case an update has been pushed to the original xlsx files. Also I can integrate the application with windows shell for required formats. I would use wpf and c# as it would be easier to manage and test. Depending upon the necessity, we can also support windows 7 if needed. the final distributable would be a msi or exe file.
