About the Company: Jenn, Inc. is a small privately owned, Marysville, CA based, corporation who is currently contracted by the City of Marysville to respond to and investigate, traffic collisions of varying severity for the police department. It began in 2004 and is growing to include many cities in Northern California.
About the Project: We are looking for an experienced software engineer who can develop proprietary programs using sophisticated, out-of-the-box ideas. This is a pilot project and we are looking for an individual who is determined and will be flexible in the early days of our growth.
Ideally, we would like someone in the greater Sacramento Valley who can meet with company personnel to develop and build such programs at an aggressive pace. The ideal candidate will also be able to support general technical needs of the business or be able to recommend an individual in the local area for general technical assistance.
The program will need to run on a mobile computer system (already in place) which is installed in vehicles. This program will guide a trained traffic collision investigator in gathering pertinent information at a traffic collision scene while using document scanners, magnetic strip readers, wireless technology (car to headquarters) and touch screens. The investigator should be able to complete a State of California Collision Report in the vehicle. This program will need to accurately and precisely replicate the standard collision report forms used in California.
Once the investigator finishes the report in the car, he or she will return to headquarters to complete any applicable diagrams. The software used for diagramming is called Smart Roads by Visual Statement and should easily interface with newly designed proprietary software.
This program will also need to be able to interface with a mainframe which will store, track, and serve as an online interface with the general public as well as supporting web commerce for those wishing to purchase reports. This mainframe system has not yet been designed.
