I have installed Yetanotherforum which is a free open source forum written in ASP.net
When a user registers using the forum it stores the password in the Database in encrypted format.
I am looking for a simple script that I can pass a text password and username to and it will check the database and return a 1 if the password and username are in the database and match correctly or return a 0 if the username is not in the database or the password is not correct.
The script will encrypt the password first then compare to the password stored in the Database.
The following was taken from [login to view URL] support section:
To encrypt the password in C# you do this command:
string sPassword = FormsAuthentication.<wbr />HashPasswordForStoringInConfig<wbr />File([login to view URL],"md5");

Here is a link on how to create a session using c# to connect to a DB and query it.
[login to view URL]
The script will reside on the same server that his hosting the database. IT will be called from another script using a command line or the script can have a webpage that takes in the username and password from the URL and return a 1 or 0.
The script does not have to be written in C# but it has to encrypt the password and match the same encryption method used by yetanotherforum.
