To Migrate SAMBA Active directory 4.7.10 (USERS, COMPUTERS, DNS& GPO) to Windows Active directory 2012 without disturbing domain computers installed at various offices.
SAMBA active directory is installed on CENTOS 7.6 operating system and running in 5 servers (3-VM,2-Physical machine). In which 3 servers are running from One location and 2 from other location. In this domain approx. 7000 users and 7000 active computers are added. Various applications are provided with LDAP / LDAPS connection for SSO purpose.
Scope of Work:
a) Installation of Windows Server 2012 R2 Operating Systems upto4 Servers.
b) Operating System Updates as recommended by Microsoft.
c) Fine-tuning the Windows OS to suite Active-Directory environment
d) Prepare Samba Servers for migration into Windows. Make necessary changes /configurations to facilitate the Windows AD Communication.
e) Transfer required FSMO Roles.
f) Transfer the Group Policy Objects to Windows Server and enable share access and ACLs.
g) Transfer remaining FSMO Roles to Windows Server.
h) Demote 3 Samba Servers and remove them from Domain.
i) 1 Server will be retained till the testing & monitoring period is completed.
j) Test & Confirm the data migration and replication between the Samba and WindowsSet Windows Server 2012 R2 as the PDC Emulator, primary time server, primary DNS Server for the domain.
k) Add additional (Maximum 3) Windows Server 2012 R2 as additional domain
l) controllers.(2- Datacentre, 2 Other location)
m) Final migration and testing activity shall be conducted at Head Office.
n) The last Samba-Server shall be demoted and removed on completion of observation period.
