Problem: Create a plugin which works with Windows Mail and Windows Live Mail on Windows Vista and Windows 7. It should include support for Windows Live Mail 2011. We would ultimately like a feature set similar to that of Mailshell's Outlook add-in described here: [url removed, login to view] 1) The plugin should create a toolbar with several buttons and menu items. a) Clicking one button will display a dialog box through which the user will be able to configure application options. The minimum is simply to demonstrate creation of the dialog. b) Clicking another button should result in an action taken on email messages that are currently selected in a folder. The action would be to conditionally move messages to a folder in Windows Mail/Live Mail based on the content of the email messages' headers and body. This demonstrates ability to access message attributes. 2) The code should demonstrate creation of a custom folder in which messages can be placed. A folder can be created for each email account managed by the mail client. 3) Incoming messages should be processed by a handler function which conditionally places some of the messages in the folder created in step 2. For simplicity, your handler function can randomly decide whether or not to move the incoming message. This handler function will ultimately be replaced by calls to an external library or process. This library could potentially take multiple seconds to respond, but the plugin should not hang if this is the case. Please structure the code to ensure the user still has a responsive application and operating system in this scenario. 4) The plugin should work with any folder or messages handled by Windows Mail /Windows Live Mail including POP3 and IMAP. 5) An installer should be created which installs this plugin within Windows Mail/Windows Live Mail.
