The website should be setup to allow a customer to login/signup via Facebook (or alternate option available). After signing up, the website pulls content from Amazon APIs for different categories they can look through for products and then select one to add to their “wish”. They then have the ability to “share” their wish with their Facebook friends/Twitter followers/Email contacts. This creates a custom link that when clicked on takes the person to a page where they can donate however much money they want into to wish. That money is put into our escrow Paypal account (which their debit withdraw limit is $3k, so we’d need to see if we’d get that lifted. We’d also possibly receive 1% back on all purchases through it). If Paypal won’t do it, then we’d have to get a bank account setup. Either way, there would need to be a way that Amazon can directly withdraw money from that account, yet ship to the address of the gift receiver.
The total cost that would need to be raised per item would be the item’s retail price + shipping (may be able to get this free through Amazon) + 2.8% to cover processing charges on our end.
THEN there would need to be APIs set-up so if a user creates an account on the website, they can also login via the app and vice-versa.
