We need graphic support as we redevelop an existing site [url removed, login to view] out of and old-style frameset and into a non-framed version with global navigation across the top. Our intention is for page layouts to remain basically the same, although with more roominess as we'll no longer be losing that space on the lefthand side.
Header, logo, logotype, plus styling of all major elements including global navigation (in drop downs), headings, various right side boxes, photos, forms, colors, etc. We need someone to work this all out for us and to create production ready graphic art files and the CSS.
The major constraints are:
EXTREMELY tight timeline as this is for a proposition on the California ballot in November.
Page layouts are not likely to change (although if you have a great idea and rationale, we'd listen)
Visual design must appeal to a particular audience (we can tell you more about that)
Visual design must also be acceptible to other organizations that are our partners. Some of these are very polite and not edgy.
You'll be working closely with at least 2 PHP guys, an HTML guy, plus the usability expert. We're American-style direct communicators and expect execution with good judgment.
We need someone who's highly productive with quick turn around time who will set and then meet our expectations about what you'll deliver when. We need two review cycles per element to be enough (okay, the logo and header might take a little longer), but no more.
If you're interested, please respond with a list specifying the elements you would deliver in a face-lift, your total price and pricing preferences, plus how long you believe the work would take you (again, assuming two very rapid review cycles for each major piece). We'd like to see a realistic budget without padding, but not too low so that it's tempting to cut corners.
