You are bidding on 50 hours of work for this project. We feel that should be enough time to learn the system, operate it, and make some enhancements. Based on your initial success, we expect to continue the project indefinitely. We believe this project will be at least 20 hours per week of long term work, possibly much more as our client expects to enlarge the scope of work based upon success here.
Our client has a Windows-based C# platform for scraping custom data via a browser using Selenium.
We are looking to partner with a freelancer or company who will learn, operate and enhance this platform on an ongoing basis.
• Learn to operate platform and check on status multiple times per day, restarting or debugging as necessary.
• Restart scraping process after researching and hopefully correcting any errors that are detected
• Write additional scrapers to process more data
• Improve the system architecture over time to be faster, more resilient, and easier to manage
Work will initially require a high level of C# and web scraping skills. Over time, as the system matures, some of the system monitoring work could be separated from the coding work. In your bid, please indicate your hourly rates for each type of skills and let us know how you would want structure the project and payments.
All code will be work-for-hire and owned by us upon payment for your services. A standard NDA will be required also, to be provided via PMB. Please mention “I agree” in your initial response to confirm that you read this entire description and agree to these terms. Bids that do not mention this in your initial reply will be ignored.
Also, please provide examples of similar projects and clarify the skill sets of the team members you would place on this project. Because this is a sealed-bids project, you can provide such information in your initial reply without concern that other bidders will see your references.
The client has many other data scraping and parsing needs, including some Excel and PDF parsing projects. The winning bidder should be prepared to provide at least 2 full-time equivalent programmers with C#, web-scraping, parsing, and Selenium skills if the project requires this in the future.
