Hi there, This exact problem almost never lives where people look for it. Everyone tightens STATIC_URL and STATIC_ROOT in settings for hours, when the real issue is that IIS is quietly handing /static/ requests to Django through the reverse proxy, and Django in production does not serve them, so the CSS comes back as a 500. I would fix the routing rather than the settings. First confirm collectstatic has actually gathered your files into the staticfiles folder, then make sure the IIS static rule truly stops before the reverse proxy rule fires, so IIS serves css, js and images directly and only real app requests reach Waitress. Test each static URL loads on its own before calling it done. Once that split is clean, adding WhiteNoise later as a safety net becomes optional rather than a crutch. I can start right now. Regards
