We are looking for experienced programmers that will build for us a web based AVL and fleet management solutions.
The application must be accesible by Internet Explorer 6+ and Firefox. It should not need any active-X controls.
The application will be offered to our customers as a subscription service. Clients will be able to enter any number of vehicles to be tracked. Each vehicle will be equiped with GPS/GPRS hardware that will log GPS data and transmit them via GPRS to our server at predefined intervals.
The end user should be able to locate their vehicles on a map and be presented with relevant reports (i.e. detailed route, mileage, average trip time etc.). The client should also be able to "playback" vehicle's trip at chosen time intervals.
The application should support geofencing (defined by the end user).
The application should be support shapefile format for maps.
The application should be built in a way so that it can be easily translated to other languages (for example have all text and messages in an XML file or database in order to be able to do the translation).
Preffered server operating system is Linux (RHEL) but proposals that work on Windows are also acceptable.
Preffered programming language is Java (GeoTools), others acceptable also.
Preffered database system is MySQL, others acceptable also.
Please do not bid unless you have extensive similar experience (that can be proven).
