I created a dummy wcf service on the following address http:/kabkabcloud/DUMMY/[url removed, login to view]
The service is using the BasicHTTPBinding and have a method named GetError(); this function simply throws the generic FaultException with a message that the client must receive.
In my case if I use the wcf service locally on my computer, the client receives the fault message normally and shows it on screen in a messagebox, but when I use the wcf located on my web site the client throws a communication exception intead of a faultexception because it receives an empty html page instead of the XML Soap message.
I searched a lot the web for that issue, i found many things regarding the configuration of [url removed, login to view] and many things regarding configuring the IIS enabling/disabling detailed messages for remote requets. I tried them all but still have the problem.
I created this Dummy wcf service just for testing.
you find attached the Visual studio client and dummy service solution to be able to test.
The goal is that i need the solution for when i throw a fault exception in my WCF service, my client application that connects remotely to the wcf service receives the soap message and catch it as a fault exception not communication exception.
