Fortinet 500E VPN Setup

I have a FortiGate 500E that needs a rock-solid, high-speed Site-to-Site VPN so our individual editors can reach a Synology NAS from outside the office without lag or dropouts. FortiOS is already running; I simply haven’t tuned the VPN parameters yet. Here’s what I need from you: • Build and apply the SSL Site-to-Site tunnel on the 500E. • Use a pre-shared key or, if you feel it’s safer for our case, a username-and-password scheme—happy with either as long as it’s secure and easy to maintain. • Map the remote subnet so our Synology drive is reachable just as if the editors were on-prem. • Verify routing, DNS, and firewall policies so file transfers stay fast. • Provide a brief step-by-step of what you changed so I can reproduce it in the future. I’ll give you full remote access during a scheduled window and can run any reboot or CLI commands you need while you watch. Once we both see the NAS syncing smoothly from a remote machine, the job is done.
