THIS IS NOT A VIDEO EDITING PROJECT.
This is a project to create an ActiveX control (OCX control or other COM object) for an MS Access database that will provide an interface LIKE Adobe Premiere (or other non-linear editing programs ) for Access data.
We have a database in which users schedule projects in blocks of time, some of which are sequential and others of which occur simultaneously. We believe a “Timeline” interface similar to that used in Adobe Premiere or other non-linear video editing systems would be an intuitive and natural way for users to schedule this work.
The control will be bound to a table/query that will contain rows of data and display it in "Blocks" within "Tracks" in a timeline,
Users should be able to click and drag on the blocks to move and reschedule the events, altering data in the bound table. Clicking on the ends of the blocks changing the start times and end times. The control should also support drag-and-drop from the Windows GUI as well as within the Access App. It will need to have several custom Methods, Properties and Events that can be read and written from VBA in the Access App.
We have a simple example Access database and more detailed instructions available to those who are interested.
The Project is to create the ActiveX control (or COM Object) in Visual Studio, 2010 or 2012 (preferably in VB), to implement it in the example db, and provide a distributable OCX control and all source material in the Visual Studio project file.
Please contact us for more detailed instructions and a copy of the example DB.
