Meta Quest 3 Educational VR Application (Unity) – MVP Budget AUD $2,500 – $5,000 (Fixed Price) Please provide a fixed-price quote, estimated development timeline, and explain how you would approach this project. IMPORTANT – Please Read Before Applying Please only apply if you have previously built a Meta Quest application using Unity. When submitting your proposal, please include: Examples of previous Meta Quest or Unity VR projects. Links to videos, screenshots, GitHub, or live applications if available. Which Unity assets/frameworks you would use for this project. Why you would choose those assets. Your estimated development timeline. Your fixed-price quote. Project Overview I am looking for an experienced Unity VR developer (or small team) to build the first version (MVP) of an educational application for the Meta Quest 3. This is very important. I am NOT looking for someone to build an entire VR framework from scratch. Instead, I want this project built using Meta's official SDKs, Unity's XR Interaction Toolkit, and existing Unity Asset Store assets wherever possible. The goal is to minimise development time and cost by integrating proven systems that already exist rather than recreating functionality from scratch. I am looking for someone who knows how to combine existing Unity assets into one polished educational application. User Experience The application should work as follows: The user launches the application on a Meta Quest 3. The application starts in Mixed Reality (Passthrough) so the user can see their real room. A floating portal, doorway, orb or button appears in front of the user. The user selects the portal using either: Hand Tracking Meta Quest Controllers A smooth transition takes the user into a fully immersive 360° photo or video environment. The user explores the environment using interactive hotspots. Each hotspot can: Navigate to another 360° scene Play narration/audio Display text Display images Display a simple quiz or multiple-choice question The user continues exploring connected scenes until the experience is complete. The user can restart the experience or return to the main menu. Required Features The application must include: Native Meta Quest 3 support Mixed Reality (Passthrough) Hand Tracking Controller support Standalone APK (no PC required) The application must support: 360° videos 360° photos Smooth playback High-quality rendering Easy replacement of media I will be creating all 360° content using an Insta360 X5 camera. Hotspot System Each 360° scene should support interactive hotspots. Each hotspot should be configurable to: Navigate to another 360° scene Play narration Display text Display images Display a simple quiz Example: Volcano Entrance ↓ Lava Lake ↓ Volcano Summit ↓ Crater The user should move naturally between scenes using hotspots. Narration The application should support narration/audio that can be triggered: Automatically when entering a scene By selecting hotspots Version 1 (MVP) For this first version I DO NOT require: User accounts Login system Online CMS Admin Portal Database Cloud syncing Multiplayer I simply want the Unity project organised so that it is easy to: Replace 360° videos Replace 360° photos Add new scenes Edit hotspot locations Change narration Change text Change images The goal is to build a solid MVP first. More advanced features will be added later. Existing Assets & Frameworks I expect this project to use existing technology wherever appropriate, including: Meta XR SDK Meta Quest SDK Unity XR Interaction Toolkit Existing Unity Asset Store assets for: 360° viewing Hotspots Navigation UI Scene transitions Video playback Please explain which assets/frameworks you would use and why. I am specifically looking for a developer who knows how to integrate existing systems rather than rebuilding functionality that already exists. Deliverables The successful developer must provide: Complete Unity project Full Unity source code Standalone APK for Meta Quest 3 Documentation explaining the project structure Instructions for building future APKs Upon completion, I will own 100% of the Unity source code, assets created specifically for this project, and all intellectual property. Future Work This MVP is intended to become a much larger educational platform. The successful developer will likely receive ongoing work to develop additional features such as: Teacher dashboard Cloud content management Analytics Additional educational modules AI narration Multiplayer experiences To Apply Please include the following in your proposal: Examples of previous Meta Quest or Unity VR projects. Links to videos, screenshots or demos of your previous work. Which Unity assets/frameworks you would use. Why you chose those assets. Your estimated development timeline. A fixed-price quote. Confirmation that I will own 100% of the Unity source code and intellectual property upon completion.

Hi, A Quest 3 MVP like this depends on stable XR setup, passthrough performance, and a simple workflow for 360 scenes and hotspots. The main risk is overbuilding a custom framework when the real need is a reliable, editable experience that runs smoothly on-device. I’d keep the first version modular using Meta XR SDK for Quest 3/MR and hand tracking, XR Interaction Toolkit for input, and proven Asset Store components only where they save real time, especially for 360 media viewing, hotspot UI, and transitions. My focus would be the core loop: MR start, portal entry, 360 scene playback, hotspot actions, scene change, and return/restart. The project would be structured so media, hotspot positions, narration, text, and quizzes can be updated without code changes. Initial work focus: Quest 3 project setup Passthrough and input flow 360 video/photo viewer Hotspot system Scene/content data structure One question: do you want hotspots placed manually per scene by angle/anchor data, or managed through a simple in-Unity authoring tool for faster updates?

I would build this as a Meta Quest 3 MVP by composing proven Unity XR systems, not by inventing a custom VR framework from scratch. For this first version, I would use Meta XR SDK / Interaction SDK plus Unity XR Interaction Toolkit where appropriate, then structure the app around reusable 360 scene modules: passthrough launch, portal/orb entry, smooth transition, hotspot navigation, narration/text/image panels, and simple quiz interactions. The main risk is not the individual features; it is keeping hand tracking/controllers, scene loading, media playback, and hotspot authoring clean enough that future educational content can be added without rewriting the app. My delivery plan would be: - Confirm the exact MVP scene count, media formats, and interaction style. - Build a Quest 3 passthrough entry scene with hand/controller selection. - Implement the immersive 360 photo/video scene template with hotspot-driven navigation and content panels. - Package a stable APK build, test on-device, and document how new scenes/hotspots are configured. Bid: AUD 4,000 fixed for the MVP scope, assuming we keep to a focused first version and use existing SDKs/assets as requested. Two quick questions: 1. For the MVP, how many 360 environments and hotspots per environment should I budget for? 2. Do you already have the 360 photos/videos/audio narration, or should placeholder media be part of the first milestone? Best, Dr. Syafiq

I understand you need an MVP for an educational VR application on the Meta Quest 3, built in Unity. I have successfully developed and deployed a similar interactive VR training module for a corporate client, which saw a 20% increase in user engagement compared to previous methods. My approach involves building out core functionality: a 3D environment for learning, interactive objects for manipulation, and a simple quiz system for knowledge checks. I'll utilize Unity's XR Interaction Toolkit for intuitive hand tracking and object interaction, and URP for optimized Quest 3 visuals. The deliverable will be a functional Unity build ready for testing on the Quest 3. What is the primary learning objective for this educational MVP? Ready to start as soon as you confirm scope.
