Hi all We are looking for a Portuguese translator of short descriptions of public holidays and observances. You have about 11 000 words to translate. The content is more or less repetitive (10-30% of repetitive elements). Some paragraphes repeat themselves , it is ok. Looking for manual translation from natives only. Mind that this is not an easy project as you might think of since it is sometimes difficult to translate local holidays of some countries in your language. Some holidays cannot be translated directly how we read it in English. I mean that your translation should be perfectly adapted to your language in a way that everybody use the version of the holiday you translate to. If you have doubts about how a particular holiday should sound in your language check out for references online. You do not touch, translate or modify italic text in square brackets like [Deutsch] or [Switzerland] We will put in square brackets any language or name of country in nominative case later, so please translate the rest of the text so that your translation goes well with any language or country in nominative case in square brackets. You can easily download these 2 docs. When you start translating the page with formatting elements, you can show me first translation so that I am sure you understood all correctly. I am a Portuguese native speaker with eight years of experience in translations from English/French to Portuguese. I also worked for five years as Deputy-Director of Macau Government Press Office, where I was in charge of all contacts (in English, of course) with foreign journalists. Between 2010 and 2015 I worked as a translator, linguist reviewer and proofreader for a Macau Government Office, “Office for International Law Affairs”. That office was in charge of translating all documents, decisions, deliberations and new regulations coming from international organizations, like the United Nations, the World Health Organization or the Universal Postal Union. My job was to compare the texts, translated to Portuguese by private companies, with the original versions in English and French, in order to detect mistakes in the translations. I also work as a journalist, since 1981, and had several editorial positions in Portuguese national newspapers (now, I work as a freelance), so I can say I have a command of Portuguese well above the average and a lot of experience on working under the pressure of very strict deadlines. My translation rates are between 0,055 USD (0,050 Euros) and 0,095 USD (0,080 euros) per word, depending from the kind of text to be translated and the deadlines - always subject to negotiation.
