Project Description: We are launching a premium athleisure brand in India targeting the yoga and fitness market. We need a freelance textile engineer to lead the Research & Development phase of our product line. Scope of Work: Fabric Analysis: Review and test fabric samples (knitted fabrics: nylon/spandex, polyester/elastane) sourced from potential Chinese manufacturers. Technical Specification: Help us define the exact technical specifications for our products (GSM, stretch recovery, wicking, anti-microbial properties, etc.). Supplier Communication: Assist in communicating technical requirements to suppliers in China to ensure they understand our quality benchmarks. Quality Control: Advise on key quality parameters to monitor during production. Ideal Candidate: Degree in Textile Engineering or related field. Deep understanding of performance fabrics (Nylon, Spandex, Polyester, Elastane). Experience in the activewear or sportswear industry is mandatory. Familiarity with international testing standards (ASTM, ISO) is a plus. Based in India (for easier time zone coordination, though remote work is fine). I will focus on key performances (stretch recovery, wicking, anti-microbial properties, close-fitting comfort), assist in defining core specs like GSM to avoid parameter-usage disconnection, help communicate with Chinese suppliers, convey user needs clearly, and provide targeted quality control suggestions to build high-end, functional products that fit yoga/fitness groups and gain quick market recognition.
