I need a clear, high-level overview of our REST-based API that gives product managers, partners, and non-developer stakeholders immediate insight into what the service offers without diving into granular request/response details. The focus is on: • Explaining the API’s purpose, primary endpoints, and typical use cases in plain language. • Describing authentication and error-handling concepts at a conceptual level rather than listing every status code. • Summarising data formats, rate-limit policies, and versioning so readers can quickly understand integration boundaries. • Presenting one or two illustrative, simplified request/response snippets—just enough to make the workflow tangible. Please deliver a polished document (Markdown or Google Doc preferred) that I can hand straight to our design team for layout. Concise writing, consistent terminology, and an organised structure are essential; aim for roughly 4–6 pages when formatted.

Hi there, You need an API overview that product managers and partners can read in one sitting and understand what the service does and how integration works. I write technical documentation for non-developer audiences (SRS/FRS, BRDs), so this is a great fit. Proposed outline (4-6 pages) 1) At a Glance: purpose, audience, value 2) Use Cases: 3-4 plain-language scenarios 3) Core Concepts: short glossary for consistent terms 4) Primary Endpoints: grouped by capability in a table 5) Authentication: how access works, conceptually 6) Error Handling: error categories and how to recover 7) Integration Boundaries: data formats, rate limits, versioning 8) Illustrative Workflow: one or two simplified request/response snippets 9) Next Steps: links to full reference and support Deliverable: Layout-ready Markdown or Google Doc with consistent headings and tables for your design team, plus one revision round. Process: I review your OpenAPI spec or docs, send the outline for approval, then deliver the draft and final. To start, I'll need your API spec or docs and a short call with a subject-matter contact. Best regards, Chitra S

The goal here is to make the API understandable to product managers, partners, and other non-developers without turning the document into a technical reference manual. I can create the 4–6 page overview around a clear structure such as: API purpose and what the service enables Key resources/endpoints explained in plain language Common integration workflows and use cases Authentication concepts and access requirements Error handling explained without overwhelming readers with status codes Supported data formats and integration boundaries Rate limits and what they mean for consumers Versioning and compatibility expectations 1–2 simplified request/response examples Concise terminology and consistent naming throughout I’ll work from your existing API documentation, OpenAPI/Swagger specification, or repository so the overview accurately reflects the actual service rather than making assumptions.

Hi, The key here is not documenting every endpoint — it is turning the existing REST API into a concise technical overview that product managers, partners, and non-developers can understand without losing the important integration constraints. I build and integrate production REST APIs using Python/FastAPI and work directly with API contracts, authentication, error handling, data models, versioning and external integrations. I can review your existing API specification/source documentation and produce a structured 4–6 page document covering: • API purpose and core use cases • primary endpoint groups and workflows • authentication and error-handling concepts • data formats, rate limits and versioning • simplified request/response examples • clear integration boundaries and terminology I’ll keep it high-level and readable rather than turning it into another exhaustive API reference. I can deliver the final document in Markdown or Google Docs, ready for your design team. I can start immediately. Vitali

Hi, Your overview won't be read by developers. It's for PMs scoping features, partners deciding whether to integrate, and stakeholders explaining the service without an engineer in the room. I've attached a sample I wrote for a fictional booking API so you can judge structure and tone first. What you'd get beyond the brief: - A one-page "At a Glance" summary: the full picture in 60 seconds - Design-ready Markdown with inline layout notes ("render as a 4-step flow"), so your designers lay out instead of interpret - One term per concept, plus a glossary, so no one asks whether "booking" and "reservation" differ - An "Integration Boundaries" section on what the API does NOT do, to prevent over-promising to partners - Errors explained by who needs to act, not by status code Minimal load on your engineers: I work from your OpenAPI spec or existing docs, send one list of questions, and they do a single accuracy review. Timeline: questions on day 1, draft on day 3, final on day 5. Quick question: are partners or internal teams your most important readers? Best, Charles

Hi, I’d be happy to create this API overview document. I’ll turn the technical information into a clear, polished guide that product managers, partners, and non-technical stakeholders can understand quickly. I’ll cover: • API purpose, key endpoints, and common use cases • Authentication and error handling at a conceptual level • Data formats, rate limits, and versioning • 1–2 simplified request/response examples • Consistent terminology and a clean, well-organized structure I’ll deliver it in Markdown or Google Docs-ready format, keeping the content concise and suitable for direct handoff to your design team. The final document will target approximately 4–6 formatted pages and will be easy to scan and understand. I’m ready to start once you share the API documentation or source material. Hi, I will draft a clear high-level REST API overview so product managers and partners grasp what the service offers without request/response deep dives. I have built something similar for another client; it works like this: a stakeholder API guide covering purpose, auth concepts, and two simplified flows without listing every status code. I will organise purpose, primary endpoints, and use cases in plain language, then cover auth, errors, formats, rate limits, and versioning conceptually. I will add one or two illustrative snippets and hand off polished Markdown or a Google Doc ready for your design team as a 4 to 6 page brief. Message me to get started. P.S. I will check first how you want primary endpoints grouped so partners see use cases before details.

Hi there, I totally get the need for clear and concise API documentation that resonates with non-developer stakeholders. With my background in tech writing, I've crafted similar high-level overviews that make complex concepts easy to digest, ensuring everyone is on the same page. I noticed you want the document to explain the API’s purpose and primary endpoints while keeping it clean and professional. I can present authentication and error-handling in a way that's approachable, without overwhelming details, and summarize data formats and rate-limit policies effectively. I specialize in creating user-friendly documentation that captures essential information without the fluff. I’m committed to speedy communication and can deliver a polished document quickly that your design team can work with right away. Let me know if you are available for a quick chat! Regards, Wonita

I can turn your existing REST API reference into a 4–6-page overview for product managers and partners. I would group the primary endpoints by use case, explain authentication, errors, formats, rate limits and versioning in plain language, and add one or two simplified, sanitized request/response examples. My profile includes REST API and Node.js application work. My rate is ₹950/hour with a ten-hour weekly cap. I estimate five to seven hours and about three days after receiving the source material. The first one to two hours produce an outline and sample use case for your approval; then I will deliver polished Markdown for your design team. Please share an OpenAPI/Swagger file or internal endpoint list and confirm which audience should lead the examples.

Hi, Because the readers are product managers, partners and non-developers, this should not be a repackaged Swagger file. I will turn the source material into a concise, design-ready explanation of what the API does, where its boundaries are and how a typical integration flows. The 4–6 page document will include: • Purpose, audience and capability overview • Primary endpoint groups and practical use cases • Authentication and error handling in plain language • Data formats, rate limits and versioning boundaries • One or two simplified request/response examples • Consistent terminology, assumptions and a short glossary Every technical statement will be grounded in the OpenAPI/Postman collection, endpoint list or internal reference you provide. I will flag uncertainties rather than inventing behaviour. Delivery: Markdown plus a clean Google Doc within 2 days Effort cap: 8 hours at ₹1,250/hour, maximum ₹10,000 Includes one consolidated revision To start, please share the source specification, preferred product terminology, priority audience and any information that must be omitted from the external document.

Hello Sir, I can create that high-level API overview for your non-technical stakeholders. I understand you don't need granular request/response specs, but a clear business-focused document. My structure for your 4-6 page doc: 1. Purpose & Value: What the API does in plain language 2. Primary Endpoints & Use Cases: Explained without code jargon 3. Core Concepts: Auth & error handling at a conceptual level 4. Boundaries: Data formats, rate limits, versioning 5. Workflow Example: 1-2 simplified, illustrative request/response snippets to make it tangible Deliverable: Polished Google Doc / Markdown, concise, consistent terminology, ready for your design team. I have set my rate at ₹800/hr to build trust. I will deliver a first draft outline for your review - if my clarity and structure is not A-one, you can ask for revision. I am confident after seeing my first draft you will find my work worth your budget. Ready to start as soon as you share the API details. Best, Sumit

The failure mode of a high level API doc is that it describes endpoints when the reader wants jobs. A partner manager does not need GET /orders. They need to know how they find out whether an order shipped, and which single call answers that. So the structure I would write: What the service is for, in a paragraph someone can repeat in a meeting. The four or five things a partner actually wants to do, each with the one call that does it and what comes back, in plain terms. Then the boundaries, as one section on what to expect. The auth model, data formats, rate limits, versioning, and the error philosophy rather than a status code table. Two simplified request and response snippets, to make the flow tangible. One thing I would put on page one that these overviews usually bury. Whether writes are idempotent, and what a retry does. Non developers make integration decisions from this document, and that single fact prevents a whole class of duplicate order bugs later. One caution up front. Anything the overview promises about versioning is a promise your team then has to keep, so the draft wants one review pass from whoever owns the API before it goes to design. Background: REST APIs on production systems, and technical documentation written for mixed technical and non technical readers. Two questions. Is there an OpenAPI spec or a Postman collection to work from? And which reader matters most, partner engineers' managers or your internal PMs? Ronak

Hi, I'm a developer who builds and integrates REST APIs, so I can explain yours in plain language for non-technical readers. The 4–6 page overview (Markdown or Google Doc) would cover: - Purpose and main use cases. - Primary endpoints grouped by function, described in plain language. - Authentication and error handling at a conceptual level. - Data formats, rate limits and versioning. - One or two simplified request/response examples to show the flow. Please share your existing docs/OpenAPI spec (or endpoint list), and I'll deliver a structured first draft for review. Dainius

I can turn your REST API source material into a concise, design-ready 4–6 page overview for product managers and partners. I would map the core use cases and endpoints first, then explain authentication, errors, formats, rate limits, and versioning in plain language, with one or two simplified examples. I will keep terminology consistent and deliver in Markdown, with a review pass for technical accuracy. Do you have an OpenAPI spec or endpoint list to use as the source of truth?

Hello, I can turn your existing API reference into a concise 4–6-page overview for product managers and partners, organised around what the API enables, a typical workflow, key endpoint groups, authentication, limits/versioning and error-handling expectations. I would include two simplified examples checked against the source rather than inventing undocumented behaviour. Proposed rate: INR 1,250/hour, with an initial cap of 6 hours, including one consolidated revision. For a documented API, I would aim for a first draft within 2 days after receiving the reference and agreeing the outline. Please share the API's business purpose, the OpenAPI/Swagger or current documentation, and confirm Markdown versus Google Docs. I will confirm whether the cap is realistic before accepting an award; incomplete source material may require a revised estimate. My workflow can include AI-assisted drafting, with factual checks against your approved sources; please flag any confidentiality or AI-use restrictions. Ahmed | Midotech

Hi, I have experience creating clear, structured technical documentation for REST APIs, backend systems, and developer-facing workflows. I can turn your API specifications into a concise, polished overview that is easy for product managers, partners, and non-technical stakeholders to understand. My approach: * Explain the API purpose, capabilities, and primary endpoints in plain language. * Document common integration scenarios and typical workflows. * Provide a conceptual overview of authentication and error handling without overwhelming readers with status-code lists. * Summarize request/response formats, rate limits, versioning, and integration boundaries. * Include 1–2 simplified request/response examples to make the workflow easy to understand. * Maintain consistent terminology, clear headings, and a professional structure suitable for your design team. * Deliver the final document in Markdown or Google Docs format, targeting approximately 4–6 formatted pages. I’ll keep the documentation concise while ensuring it contains everything stakeholders need to understand how the API fits into their workflows. I’m available to start immediately and can deliver quickly after reviewing the API specifications/reference material. Let’s chat so I can understand your API and begin. Best regards, Raj

You need a 4 to 6 page plain-language overview of your REST API that product managers and partners can read without a developer beside them. My plan: 1. Read your current reference and list the main endpoints and the tasks they serve. 2. Write the overview: purpose, endpoints grouped by task, typical workflows, authentication and error handling as concepts, data formats, rate limits and versioning. 3. Add one or two short, simplified request and response examples. 4. Keep a small glossary so every term is used the same way, then deliver a Google Doc or Markdown file ready for your design team. Included: the document and one round of edits. Not included: a full endpoint-by-endpoint reference or the page design. Rate Rs 850 an hour. I expect about 8 hours. What do you have today: an OpenAPI or Swagger file, a Postman collection, or only the code?
