VLAN range and zone type are locked at creation time in CloudStack, so getting those decisions right before anything is provisioned prevents a full rebuild later. We've been running Proxmox clusters for years, and the architecture maps closely: compute hosts, storage pools, and network isolation all have direct CloudStack equivalents. The difference is CloudStack adds a proper multi-tenant API on top, which is exactly what a public cloud offering needs to handle per-tenant isolation cleanly. Here's how I'd structure the 21 days: M1: Single-zone proof-of-concept, INR 20000, 7d. Ubuntu 22.04 management server, MySQL backend, two KVM hosts registered, advanced zone with one public IP pool. Spinning VMs by end of week one. M2: Tenant network isolation, INR 20000, 5d. VLAN-isolated guest networks per account, per-tenant public IPs assigned via API, firewall rules enforced at the offering level. M3: Storage and templates, INR 20000, 5d. Secondary storage configured, base VM templates registered (Ubuntu, CentOS), snapshot support, usage records for billing hooks. M4: Load balancer and hardening, INR 20000, 4d. HAProxy-based load-balancer offering, management API restricted to internal network, host health alerting, documented runbook. Are the KVM hosts bare metal, or nested in existing hypervisors? That changes how we handle CPU flags and the storage pool setup.
