-We have a production front web end server collocated with an ISP service provider. We have our development server residing at our office.
-We are looking at options for the best failover plan to our development box when our production box is under maintenance.
Eg. Swing over to the dev box seamlessly if the prod box is down.
We require a business report on the pro’s/ cons, costings & recommendation over three types of DNS failovers:
1/ Manual DNS failover. reducing the TTL to ensure a quicker update over the internet
2/ using third party dns service. for example: [url removed, login to view]
3/ Using hardware. eg. application load balancer between sites
- We require a great technical writer with a sound knowledge in DNS failover solutions
- The report needs to be kept at a high level as our manager will be reviewing it and deciding what is best for the business.
- Approx 700 - 900 words
- Any comments in PMB not relating to this project will be ignored.
- Great opportunity for future work. E.g. disaster recovery report
- Low budget Project
