I have never done this before, but I was told that what I needed was an SSH tunnel on my server.
I'd like to be able to login to an SSH account, and all that ssh account would do is route my traffic thru port 1088 or something. That was I could edit proxy settings in internet explorer or whatever and be able to route all traffic thru my server, and that way my IP wont be visible. I'd also like to use this to allow only specific ips to access different parts of my site etc.
I have about 40 IPs on my box.. I'd like to choose which IP to route thru each time.. or have some way of modifying the IP I use for the SSH tunnel
I had someone managing my server, who was going to do this for me for free.. as he said it wouldn't be too hard, but he is on vacation, and I'd like it done ASAP.
Please let me know if you can do this, or have a better idea.
Please let me know how long it will take you, you're qualifications, and give me your lowest possible bid.
When this is setup fully, would I just connect to one of the IPs on my box via SSH.. and use a specific ssh user/pass and then the SSH tunnel would be setup on localhost?
I would like to be able to use a program like SOCKSCAP and be able to run programs and be 'proxied' thru that.
Please let me know.. my friend notified me that I might need a VPN setup
I just got confirmation.. I need a VPN setup.. not just SSH TUNNEL.
