## Task: Development of a CO₂ Adsorption Database from Published Literature ### Objective To develop a comprehensive and standardized database of carbon-based adsorbents by systematically collecting structural characterization data and CO₂ adsorption performance from published experimental studies. The database will serve as the primary dataset for subsequent statistical analysis, comparative evaluation, and structure–property relationship modelling using MATLAB. ### Task Description A systematic literature search will be conducted using peer-reviewed journal databases, including Scopus, Web of Science, ScienceDirect, SpringerLink, Wiley Online Library, ACS Publications, and Taylor & Francis Online. Relevant experimental studies published between 2000 and 2025 will be identified using predefined search keywords related to carbon dioxide adsorption, carbon-based adsorbents, activated carbon, carbon nanotubes, pore structure, surface chemistry, and structural characterization. Each selected article will undergo a screening process based on predefined inclusion and exclusion criteria to ensure the quality and consistency of the dataset. Only studies reporting both structural characterization and experimentally measured CO₂ adsorption performance will be included. For every eligible adsorbent reported in the literature, quantitative and qualitative information will be extracted and recorded in a structured Microsoft Excel database. Where a single publication reports multiple adsorbent samples, each sample will be entered as an individual record to maximise the size and diversity of the dataset. The extracted data will subsequently be reviewed for completeness, duplicate records, missing values, and unit consistency. Standardisation procedures will be performed to ensure that all structural descriptors and adsorption performance data are reported using consistent units and measurement conditions wherever possible. The completed database will then be imported into MATLAB for computational analysis. ### Variables to be Collected #### A. Each sample will include a consistent set of structural descriptors and adsorption performance data, providing a robust dataset for MATLAB-based statistical analysis, comparative studies, regression modelling, principal component analysis (PCA), cluster analysis, and the development of structure–property relationships governing CO₂ adsorption in carbon-based adsorbents.
