MSSQL Expert Required to Fix Performance Issues - repost

Hello, This is Janos from Hungary - I'd like to help you on this. I have a vast experience with SQL server, performance-tuning and development best practices etc. and can help ensure you get the best out of the current design both database and application-wise and will try to eliminate all possible issues I find. My bid is for: 1.) Analysing the requirements: bottlenecks, typical issues and symptoms - as explained and demonstrated by you. 2.) Analysing traffic on the SQL server to extract the root causes of the problems and acting upon them, creating indexes etc - making all non-obtrusive changes straight away. Non-obtrusive changes: indexes, changing/creating/removing - in light of your application use, etc. Rebuilding stats, setting up index rebuilds etc as may be needed. 3.) Understanding your application architecture - what is being run and how and making changes to SQL code/stored procedures to avoid locking. Non-obtrusive only: it will not break the application or require you to change the code. 4.) Creating a report of what has been done - what is changed and making recommendations for any obtrusive changes : requiring changes in stored procedures/SQL code - that MAY break existing functionality. I am able to perform these within a few days and hopefully substantially improve the situation even if not everything can be fixed within this time/budget - but it WILL get you started and it WILL HELP. regards, Janos

Hello! Performance issues can certainly be a challenge, especially when there are a large number of variables that can be affecting the outcome. I'm a 20+ year veteran of Microsoft software stacks, and have been troubleshooting SQL performance issues for almost all of them (it kind of comes with the territory!). What I can do for you is this: 1) Analyze your SQL server and web server for any hardware-related performance issues: too little RAM or hard drive space, etc. 2) Analyze the T-SQL code being executed on the server, finding and eliminating bottlenecks, refactoring stored procedures/ad hoc queries and building/fixing indexes where necessary. 3) Review the PHP pages calling the SQL to see if there are best practices improvements to how the data is being accessed that could lead to performance improvements as well. Hi, I have a lot of experience with MSSQL (2003-2008). Extensive experience with PHP and PHP + MSSQL I can't say what i can do to improve performance of your application without see sources ( and database ). I have Windows Server 2008 (NOT R2) at home - and MsSql Server (v 2008 ). It would be best if I got a backup of the database and the page source. I can't run mssql server v 2012. Hello Alyonsuk I am in the UK unlike most if not all of your other bidders. I have been using SQL Server for about 15 years, and for many of those in very time-critical environments where microseconds counted. These were financial trading applications where I had to react to an unrestricted flow of pricing updates whilst still performing transactions for clients and internal users. I therefore have a wide range of experience with optimisation and what to look for etc. I have bid £150 on here, however I suspect your problems may be considerable so you need to be prepared to pay extra. For example, to record a suitable benchmarking trace may take an hour or two. You don't say if you have a test environment in order to implement changes before committing to the production server. It also doesn't say which version (year and then 'model') you have either. I can help you immediately if chosen. Thanks Simon

Currently I have been working on SQL performance tuning where we had issues with SQL server consuming around 100% CPU usage. I have resolved the issue by identifying and then fine tuning several SQL server objects that were causing the issue. Now the CPU usage has came down drastically. I think, I will be able to help you out on this specific performance issue.
