I want a Windows-based toolkit that plugs into my Elgato Game Capture 4K X (link below) and lets me see, in real time, the exact framerate and output resolution of any console signal coming through the card. The closest reference to what I’m after is demonstrated in this video: [login to view URL] My goal is to have something with similar on-screen overlays and/or logged readouts, but tailored to my own workflow. Core needs • Detect and display both instantaneous and average FPS • Detect and display the active video resolution (including dynamic resolution shifts) • Run reliably on Windows and recognise the Elgato 4K X without manual EDID tricks • Optionally log results to a CSV or TXT file for later analysis I’m open to the underlying tech—DirectShow, FFmpeg, the Elgato SDK, or anything you feel is best—as long as the final build is easy to install and use. Deliverables will be a working executable, source code, and a short setup/read-me so I can replicate the build if I upgrade hardware in the future. There’s no rush on timing, so feel free to propose realistic milestones that cover development, testing with sample footage, and a final polish pass.
