Simple 3d-bin packaging program

Project Description:

It’s a typical 3d –package-bin problem. There are lots of algorithms over the internet, I’m just need an advanced input-output system for these algorithms.

A. Main aim: get the graphical loading scheme of the input boxes (according of its size and preferences) to the loaded container, and the list of the boxes that system can’t pack

Optimum: maximum loading of the container

B. Limits:

Number of boxes – beyond 100 pcs., which will be packed to 1 container.

Time for calculation – beyond 10 minutes on the average computer.

Some of the boxes can be partly placed “in air”.

C. Task:

I need some kind of web-service (java preferred, but I can discuss variants) that will take input data as XML file (or JSON) with boxes and container, and output a printable web page with graphical scheme of loading these boxes to container and a list of unplaced boxes.

Input file will contain this data:

1. ID of calculation (random ID)

2. List of the boxes with attributes: ID of the box, Name of the box, Height, Length, Width, Rotate (can we rotate the box), TopOnly (can the box be underneath other boxes)

3. Container attributes: Height, Length, Width

In output, system should form an html page with the name the same as ID of calculation (1) with the graphical result of packing. This page should be able to be printed.

Graphics can be pretty primitive – I just need that unprepared man can understand where and how he should load the boxes
