We have an application written in Borland Delphi that controls Windows Media Services via COM automation (IWMSServer, etc).
The application is essentially an RPC server that communicates with a client application over a secure named pipe. In response to certain commands, it performs specific actions in Windows Media Services.
We need this application ported to C#.
The complete Borland Delphi source code for the application (about 2000 LOC) will be provided to the developer, along with a working executable copy of the client application with which it communicates. If needed, portions of the client application source code (also in Borland Delphi) may be provided as well.
Deliverables will include:
- a feature-complete, fully functional port of the application to C#;
- testing and confirmation of correct operation with WMS 2008 R2 and WMS 2012;
- all source code and everything needed to compile the application in Visual Studio; and
- exclusive rights to, and copyright ownership of the same.
We are a software development firm, however our limited in-house experience with C# and desire for a fast turnaround is leading us to outsource this project. There will be further C# work available if the job is done on time and to spec.
