I was just about to post a general project to [url removed, login to view] when I saw that you have done similar work on a similar posting in the past. Here is the nature of the job I am looking to fill:
Part 1: Retrieving live thoroughbred odds from the brisnet supertote at brisnet.com. I would like to be able to specify track (by abbreviation or track code) and race number, and then get the following information in csv format with one horse per line:
- post position
- horse name
- odds from the morning line
- current odds as of the time the retrieval took place.
I am pretty flexible as to programming method but my preference (if possible) would be bash and a combination of either wget, curl, etc. I need to be able to run it at the command line on a linux host. Perl and php (depending on the scripts) would be fine, too.
I'm also open to getting this data from another source, as long as all of the tracks fall on that list.
Part 2: (Nice to have, not essential)
I'd love to be able to get the following information as well, though I suspect it could be a fair bit more work:
- dates of the last 12 races run
- results for each race (ie win, place, show, fourth* -- if fourth is available)
What do you think? Are you available for this sort of work?
