# SharePoint Developer / Information Architecture Specialist ## Project Overview We are looking for an experienced **Microsoft SharePoint developer / specialist** to help us rapidly uplift and structure our SharePoint environment over the next **3 weeks**. The objective is to establish a clean, professional and scalable SharePoint structure that becomes the foundation for **business knowledge management and controlled document management**. This is not primarily a document migration project. There is relatively little existing-document migration required. The focus is on getting the **SharePoint structure, navigation, metadata, document governance and key pages** working properly so that we have a strong foundation going forward. ## What We Need We need someone who can work with us to: ### 1. Build the SharePoint Top-Level / Home Page Create a professional, user-friendly SharePoint landing page that acts as the **front door to our business knowledge environment**. The top-level page should provide: * Clear navigation across key business areas * Links to important systems and resources * Business / functional navigation * Access to key policies, procedures and knowledge * Clear pathways into departmental / functional pages * A clean and professional user experience * Structure that can be expanded over time The objective is to make the SharePoint home page genuinely useful to employees rather than simply being a document repository. ### 2. Build Key Second-Level Pages We want to establish the structure for a number of important pages beneath the top-level page. These will be focused on key business functions / areas and should provide: * Clear page structure * Appropriate document libraries * Logical navigation * Relevant metadata * Links to related information * Consistent page design * Search / filtering where appropriate We don't need every possible page built in this engagement. The priority is establishing the **top-level architecture and a small number of high-value second-level pages** that demonstrate the model. ### 3. Establish Knowledge Management & Metadata A major part of the project is moving towards a controlled approach to **new documents entering SharePoint**. We want to establish a practical framework where new documents are appropriately classified using metadata such as: * Business area / department * Document type * Category / subject * Document owner * Status * Effective date * Review date * Other relevant classification fields The goal is to make information **structured, searchable and manageable**, rather than relying on users simply creating folders and storing documents wherever they choose. ### 4. Establish Document Governance Help us implement the SharePoint configuration required so that **new documents follow a controlled process**. This may include: * Content types * Site columns * Metadata * Document libraries * Views * Naming conventions * Document templates * Required metadata * Version control * Approval / publishing processes where appropriate * Ownership and review processes We want the solution to be practical and easy for business users to adopt. ### 5. Minimise Existing Document Migration There will be **limited migration of existing documents** as part of this project. Our priority is to get the **future-state SharePoint structure right** rather than spending the three weeks undertaking a large-scale document migration. Existing documents can largely remain where they are initially, with migration / rationalisation becoming a future phase where required. ## Deliverables At the end of the 3-week engagement, we expect to have: 1. **A completed SharePoint top-level / home page** 2. **Key second-level business pages established** 3. **A clear SharePoint information architecture** 4. **Navigation structure implemented** 5. **Document libraries appropriately configured** 6. **Metadata / site columns established** 7. **Relevant content types established** 8. **Controlled approach for adding new documents** 9. **Appropriate views, filtering and search configuration** 10. **Basic document governance structure** 11. **Consistent page and library design** 12. **Documentation explaining the implemented structure and governance** 13. **Handover to our internal team** ## Ideal Freelancer We are looking for someone with strong practical experience in: * Microsoft SharePoint Online * Modern SharePoint sites and pages * SharePoint information architecture * Document management * Metadata and content types * SharePoint document libraries * Knowledge management * Search and filtering * SharePoint permissions / governance * Microsoft 365 * Power Automate where relevant You should be comfortable working directly with business stakeholders and translating business requirements into a **simple, usable SharePoint architecture**. We are **not looking for someone who simply builds attractive SharePoint pages**. The successful freelancer needs to understand how SharePoint should be structured as a **business knowledge and document management platform**. ## Engagement **Duration:** 3 weeks **Start:** ASAP **Location:** Remote **Engagement:** Fixed-term project / freelancer We expect the successful candidate to work closely with our team during the three weeks, with regular progress reviews and rapid iteration. ## Important We already have a clear direction for the future SharePoint environment. We are looking for someone who can **come in, understand the current environment quickly, challenge where appropriate, and implement the required solution**. This is intended to be a **hands-on delivery engagement**, not a lengthy consulting exercise. The successful freelancer should be able to make meaningful progress within the first few days and have the core SharePoint architecture and top-level experience substantially established during the engagement.

Hi, this is exactly the SharePoint work I enjoy—building the information architecture properly, not just making pages look good. I’ve delivered SharePoint Online environments with modern pages, hub/navigation structures, metadata, content types, document libraries, governance, permissions, search and Power Automate workflows. I’d spend the first few days auditing your current structure, then build the top-level architecture, priority business pages and governance model iteratively with your team. Everything will be documented for handover. For a focused 3-week engagement, I’d suggest AUD $2,500–$4,000, as the posted budget is far below market for this hands-on scope. I can start ASAP.

Hi, I’d be happy to help establish a clean, scalable **SharePoint Online information architecture and document governance framework** within your 3-week timeline. I have 11+ years of experience with **SharePoint Online, Microsoft 365, Power Automate, document management, metadata, content types, permissions, and business process automation**. I can deliver: • Professional SharePoint top-level/home page and navigation • Key second-level departmental/functional pages • Information architecture and consistent page structure • Document libraries, site columns, content types and metadata • Required metadata, views, filtering and search configuration • Document templates, naming/versioning and governance structure • Approval/review workflows using Power Automate where appropriate • Practical permissions and ownership model • Documentation, handover and team walkthrough My focus will be on creating a **usable knowledge and document management platform**, not just visually attractive pages. I can work directly with your team, understand the existing environment quickly, and start implementing the core structure from the first few days. I’m available to start ASAP and can work closely with your team throughout the 3-week engagement. Best Regards, Nidhi

Hi, I am Adeel. I built the SharePoint document and matter management platform for JTA Law, a law firm needing structured metadata, content types and controlled document governance rather than open folders. I also delivered Microsoft 365 collaboration for Florence College along similar lines. For yours I would start by mapping the top-level navigation and the small set of second-level pages first, then define site columns and content types so metadata is consistent before any governance rules go on top. I can start immediately and keep pace with the three week timeline through regular check-ins. Which business areas do you want as the first second-level pages?

Hello there, I am intrested in this opportunity, and I can help structure and uplift your SharePoint Online environment into a professional, scalable knowledge and document management platform within your 3-week timeline. My approach: 1. Review your existing SharePoint environment and future-state direction, then translate it into a practical information architecture. 2. Build a professional home page with clear business navigation, key resources, policies, and links to functional areas. 3. Establish key second-level pages with consistent layouts, relevant libraries, and connected information. 4. Configure site columns, metadata, content types, document libraries, views, and filtering. 5. Set up document classification, naming conventions, required metadata, version control, and practical governance processes. 6. Configure approval and publishing workflows using Power Automate where appropriate. 7. Keep the structure scalable and user-friendly, with minimal focus on existing document migration. 8. Work closely with stakeholders, share progress regularly, and provide documentation and handover to your internal team. I have hands-on experience with SharePoint Online, document management, metadata, permissions, Power Platform, and business process automation. I focus on building practical solutions that are easy for employees to use and maintain. I’m available to discuss your current environment and start promptly. Best regards, Samira

Hello, I went through your project description and understand you need a hands-on SharePoint specialist who will establish a scalable information architecture, professional navigation, knowledge-management structure, and controlled document governance within three weeks. I’ll first review the current SharePoint environment, business areas, permissions, existing libraries, and content-management needs, then implement the top-level home page and priority second-level pages using modern SharePoint Online. Site columns, content types, metadata, document libraries, views, naming conventions, templates, versioning, and required fields will create a consistent structure for new documents rather than relying on uncontrolled folders. Where workflow automation adds value, Power Automate can support approvals, notifications, ownership, and review reminders. Search and filtering will be configured around the metadata model, while permissions and governance will be kept practical for business users. I’ll document the architecture, governance rules, and maintenance approach and provide a clear handover to your team. To scope your project clearly, I would like to ask whether the current SharePoint tenant already has a defined site structure and permission model, or should I establish the initial architecture from the existing environment? A project blueprint will be shared within 24–48 hours of award. Best Regards, Imran

Hi — you want a hands-on 3-week SharePoint Online uplift: home page as the knowledge front door, a few high-value second-level pages, metadata/content types, and practical governance for new documents — not a big migration. That’s how I’d run it: information architecture first, then pages and libraries that match how your people work. I’ve worked across Microsoft 365 / enterprise document and knowledge setups (permissions, metadata-minded libraries, Graph-adjacent integrations) and I’m comfortable translating stakeholder needs into a simple, maintainable structure rather than pretty page chrome. 3-week plan: 1. Days 1–3: Quick environment review + agree top-level IA, navigation, and the first second-level business areas 2. Week 1–2: Build home + priority pages, libraries, site columns, content types, views/filters 3. Week 2–3: Governance for new docs (required metadata, naming, versioning, light Power Automate approvals where useful) + docs and handover Minimal migration of old content, as you asked — future-state structure first. Quote: AUD $2,800 fixed for the scoped 3-week delivery (or AUD $2,400 if we lock only home + 3 second-level areas). Happy to adjust after a short call on current site/hub setup. Which 3–4 business areas should be the first second-level pages, and do you already have a hub site / home site decided?

Hey, thanks for posting this — Admin here. I reviewed "SharePoint Uplift & Structuring Specialist Needed" carefully. I can take ownership of this with a clean delivery flow around core delivery in Sharepoint, Uplift, Structuring, Specialist. Execution plan: 1) lock the exact module scope and user roles first 2) ship core features in short milestone batches with review checkpoints 3) finish with QA, bug-fix pass, and deployment handover From your brief, I noted this key context: # SharePoint Developer / Information Architecture Specialist ## Project Overview We are looking fo Quick checks before kickoff: - Do you want audit logs and reporting included in the first release? - Do you already have finalized module priorities, or should I propose milestone ordering? Once you confirm the scope, I can kick off and deliver initial progress quickly.

Hi, I will create a professional SharePoint top-level home page that serves as the front door to your business knowledge environment. This matters because a well-structured landing page enhances user engagement and accessibility. I will utilize SharePoint's modern site features to ensure clear navigation and links to important resources. Next, I will build key second-level pages focused on essential business functions. This is important for providing logical navigation and relevant metadata. I will establish document libraries and consistent page designs to ensure a cohesive user experience. I will also implement a framework for knowledge management and metadata classification. This is crucial for making information structured and searchable. I will set up content types, site columns, and document libraries to facilitate a controlled document governance process. To get started, I need access to your current SharePoint environment and any existing documentation on your business processes. Thanks!

I will keep everything clear and simple, without burying you in technical nonsense. MESSAGE ME, I WILL KEEP THIS SIMPLE. Regards, Stefan.

Hi, I can help you establish a clean, scalable SharePoint Online environment within the 3-week timeframe, with the focus on information architecture, document governance, metadata and usability—not just page design. I have hands-on experience with Modern SharePoint, Microsoft 365, document libraries, content types, site columns, metadata, permissions, search/filtering and Power Automate. My approach would be to quickly assess your current environment, confirm the target architecture, then implement the top-level home page, priority second-level pages, navigation, libraries, metadata framework, content types, views and document governance controls. I’ll keep the solution practical so business users can adopt it easily without creating unnecessary complexity. I can work closely with stakeholders, iterate rapidly, document the final structure and provide a clear handover to your internal team. I’m available to start ASAP and can make meaningful progress from the first few days.

Getting every new document in with an owner, status, effective date and review date is the part I'd focus on, alongside a home page your staff will actually use. I can set up the content types, libraries, views and navigation for you, and write up the structure for your internal team. I'll stay on it through your progress reviews and any fixes, until the structure works the way your team needs. Which business areas do you want as the first second-level pages? Happy to get going once I know that. Sela
