FOIA Researcher Needed — Bodycam True Crime Channel (Ongoing, 2 Cases/Week) I run a true crime YouTube channel focused on bodycam and interrogation footage, and I'm looking for an experienced FOIA researcher to source cases on an ongoing basis. What I need: You will deliver two (2) fully sourced cases per week. Each case must include enough material to support a 20–40 minute video. In practice, that means: Bodycam, dashcam, and/or interrogation footage already obtained (not "requestable" — obtained) For each video file: exact runtime clearly stated Strong narrative potential: the case needs a story worth telling — an arc, a twist, escalation, an unusual outcome. Not routine traffic stops or generic arrests. If the footage is long but nothing happens, it's not a case. A short case summary (who, what, where, outcome/current status) Supporting documents (police reports, court records, 911 audio) are appreciated but not required — footage and story come first. Case freshness matters: Strong preference for recent cases that haven't already been covered on YouTube. Before pitching a case, do a quick search — if the footage is already uploaded on multiple channels, I'm not interested. Fresh FOIA releases and under-the-radar cases are exactly what I'm looking for. Hard requirements — read before applying: I will not accept pitches like "I can get footage from X case" without specifying the exact runtime of the footage and what actually happens in it. If you don't know what the material looks like, don't pitch it. Footage must be public record and legally obtained through FOIA / public records requests. No leaked or pirated material. Consistency matters more than one-off finds. This is a weekly, long-term collaboration. To apply, send: One example case you could deliver right now, including footage runtime and a 2-3 sentence summary of why it makes a good video Your experience with FOIA / public records requests (which states/agencies you've worked with) Your rate per case or per week Applications that don't include footage runtime and case details will be ignored.

As a Full-Stack Developer and Creative Design Expert with over 16 years of experience, I'm here to bring an innovative approach to your true-crime project. Although my background is primarily in IT and Design, I developed a passion for video editing and storytelling that can be seen in my creative endeavors. My team and I understand that compelling true-crime content relies heavily on both solid research and meticulous curation, two areas we excel in. Though I haven't worked directly in FOIA research before, our dedicated troubleshooting skills, an essential characteristic of IT professionals, make us quick learners prepared to fulfill any roles needed for this project. We have worked with several APIs and integrated multiple third-party resources which might prove helpful in your case sourcing process. Let's create something fresh by leveraging my skills as a designer and editor: your well-researched content will be transformed from mundane files into gripping stories that draw viewers into the investigation and evoke their emotional involvement with the case. Giving victims a voice has been the cornerstone of my work; I am thrilled at the opportunity to provide fresh perspectives for under-the-radar but equally significant issues to shed light on actual unheard truths. Together we can redefine this genre, making it not just about entertainment but awareness, giving justice its true importance.
