Help with Linux coursework

Hi

I need somebody help me to do the coursework mentioned below. The worker should complete this assignment in 3 days and **should provide me with full explanation of how does the script work**.

A software company has installed Windows-based operating systems on its pc based systems for normal office applications. In keeping with traditional practice on Windows systems, files which are "deleted" are not physically removed from the system but are placed in the ***Recycle Bin*** instead. A user then has to delete the files from this area in order to physically delete a file.

The company wishes to standardise its "housekeeping" procedures for files on its Linux system in the same way.

## Deliverables

A software company has installed Windows-based operating systems on its pc based systems for normal office applications. In keeping with traditional practice on Windows systems, files which are "deleted" are not physically removed from the system but are placed in the ***Recycle Bin*** instead. A user then has to delete the files from this area in order to physically delete a file.

The company wishes to standardise its "housekeeping" procedures for files on its Linux system in the same way.

Thus, a set of Linux shell scripts is required to allow users to 'remove' files without them really disappearing until the 'dustbin' is emptied. The three shell scripts required are :-

del <filename> - This script should move the file called <filename> (a full or relative pathname) to the

dustbin directory.

trash [-a] - This script should remove the contents of the dustbin directory.

If the **-a option** is ***not*** used, the script should print the filenames in the dustbin one by one and ask the

user for confirmation that they should be deleted.

Otherwise, If the **-a option** is used, the script should simply remove **ALL **files from the dustbin.

restore [-n] <filename> - This script should move the file called <filename> (a full or relative pathname)

back to its ***original ***directory.

If the **-n option** is used, the script should allow the file to be moved to a directory nominated by the user.

The above script definitions conform to standard UNIX/Linux practice in that [ ] denotes an optional parameter whilst < > denotes a mandatory parameter. These delimiters are**NOT** part of the parameter itself.

Any error messages should conform to standard UNIX/Linux notation

**e.g. Usage : command [argument list] parameter list**

The submission should include :

(a) Copies of the shell scripts (with internal documentation).

(b) An explanation of the method used for storing the original directory details in the del script.

(c) A demonstration of the scripts showing all the features working.

(d) A design for the scripts
