In this hypothesis you are part of a large enterprise company that is looking to keep ahead of trends to ensure ultimate efficiency within the company. In addition to finding these, you want to be able to offer those same services to companies, that due to their size, cannot afford to buy, or may not be experienced enough to know solutions exist in that space.
Looking to find industry-leading trends in the following business areas:
Customer Service / Contact Centers
Distribution / Warehouse / Transportation
Internships / Co-Ops
Manufacturing / Operations
Merchandising / Buying
Supply Chain / Logistics / Inventory Planning
This project would be to determine and report on cutting edge processes and technologies currently being utilized by best-of-breed enterprise companies to support their organization.
In this environment, imagine that you were starting an accelerator for established businesses, and wanted to provide to them all the resources they needed to operate with the scale/ability of an enterprise company.
Therefore, all companies mentioned must be able to:
Support enterprise level business or be very-close to accomplishing that size
Have a process that is seen as market-leading, or cutting edge
Have a significant level of growth or industry impact in their field.
The purpose is to determine what trends (with supporting examples) that are prevalent towards optimization/efficiency in their respective field.
The structure needed is as follows (per department):
1. Identify the trend and provide evidence to why the industry is going that way (this should include but not be limited to technology trends, operational trends are also a strong focus regardless of technology.
2. Provide key examples of companies/services leading that trend
3. For those companies listed, their value (where applicable) / growth trajectory (if possible) / and key enterprise customers using their products/services
The intent is to develop a list of several companies to partner with to then offer programs to the customers of your enterprise company, after ensuring that your company is taking advantage of those trends as well.
