Surface 3D model to solid 3D model conversion

Our young company specializes in design, marketing, and worldwide distribution of scale auto models. We are looking for an experienced 3D modeling specialist with industrial design, vehicle styling, or architectural design background available for project-based work on CONTINUOUS, ONGOING basis. The position requires manipulating complex, highly detailed surface 3D models and converting them into solid 3D models, where each part of the 3D model would constitute a separate solid 3D model. The successful candidate must possess the following skills: • Very strong proficiency with 3D modeling utilizing 3D modeling software such as ProE, Unigraphics, Rhino3D, AutoCad, Solidworks, CATIA, etc. • Access to 3D modeling software tools that can generate a variety of file formats • Ability to convert and manipulate files from one electronic format to another (e.g. STP, IGES, etc.) • Extensive experience converting highly detailed surface 3D models into solid 3D models • Ability to perform conversion of a surface 3D model into a solid 3D model within 2-3 days • Very strong attention to detail and thoroughness in executing assignments • Outstanding teamwork and communication skills • Flexibility and excellent time and project management skills • Willingness to participate in team meetings on weekends • Availability during U.S. Eastern and Central Standard times • Patience and perseverance to complete complex projects on timely basis • Ability to communicate via Skype to participate in meetings with team members • Interest in car history and vehicle design is desirable but not required • Ability to dedicate 10-40 hours per week, every week on continuous basis WORK DESCRIPTION: Each project involves analysis of a surface 3D model and converting the 3D model into a solid 3D model. The surface 3D models are highly detailed and have over 50-200 elements. Each element must be converted into a solid 3D model format. The final product is identical 3D model that is a solid. The solid 3D models need to be in the *.prt and *.sldprt file formats that can be used in SolidWorks, Pro-E, or Unigraphics 3D modeling tools. We need to perform at least 2-3 conversions each week. Eventually, if the work and cooperation are satisfactory, you will continue to work on the subsequent conversions of various 3D models on continuous basis.
