I have an enclosure in which I need to house six flexible photovoltaic modules for shipment to the installation site. I have preliminarily chosen an enclosure size based on reasons outside the scope of this problem. Internal dimensions = 48.62" x 24.62" x 19.67" (123.4 x 62.5 x 49.9 cm). Once at the site, the flexible panels, adhered to a yet-to-be-designed mounting surface, will quickly and simply “pop out” of the box and fold into their solar-collecting position. The panels are each 112” long, 15” wide and can be rolled to a minimum bending diameter of 20”. Tilt-angle of panels shall be adjustable within a range of ~30degrees.
I’m looking for the design of the mounting surfaces and the whole mechanism of them popping out and folding nicely back into the enclosure. This shall be able to be done hundreds of times throughout the lifetime of this system.
Keeping weight down is important as is high impact durability and resistivity to the elements. I will have the actual panels and enclosure in-hand probably within two-month’s time. Being able to see it in real life will likely help the designer visualize and realize the design.
I need someone who can produce the fabrication drawings, 3D renderings, 3D animated modeling, fabrication oversight, assembly and integration service of the contraption into the enclosure. When this agreement is complete, I would like to have a fully-functional tangible prototype. This requires the person to be local to the greater Charleston, SC area.
