CodeIgniter Migration for Admin Areas (India)

Project: Create CodeIgniter Migration for Administrative Areas (India) Overview I have an ERP/School Management System built with PHP and CodeIgniter. The system stores addresses using relational database tables and foreign keys instead of free-text fields. The countries table is already populated with approximately 192 countries, so no country data is required. I need migration/seed data only for the lower administrative levels for the following countries: India Existing Database Structure The database already contains the following tables: countries (already populated) states districts sub_districts These tables are linked using foreign keys and numeric IDs. Required Administrative Levels The hierarchy should be mapped as closely as possible to each country's official administrative structure. Bangladesh (Reference Only) Country Division District Upazila / Thana (Sub-district) My application uses this same four-level structure for every country. Required Mapping For each country, please provide the closest equivalent administrative level. India State District Sub-district (Tehsil / Taluk / Taluka / Mandal / Block, whichever is the most appropriate official level) United States State County Township / Census Division / Borough or another widely accepted subdivision of a county (please use the closest practical equivalent and explain your choice if needed) Canada Province or Territory County / Regional Municipality / Regional District (where applicable) Municipality / Township / Local administrative subdivision or the closest commonly used equivalent The exact naming is less important than maintaining a consistent four-level hierarchy. Application Flow The address selection works as follows: User selects Country. System loads States/Provinces. User selects a State/Province. System loads Districts/Counties. User selects a District/County. System loads Sub-districts (or the closest equivalent). User enters Address Line 1, Address Line 2, etc. Only IDs are stored for these administrative levels. Deliverables CodeIgniter migration file (preferred) OR MySQL SQL insert/seed script Data for: States/Provinces Districts/Counties Sub-districts (or the closest equivalent) Proper foreign key relationships No duplicate records Clean and well-organized code Requirements Use official or well-maintained administrative data sources. Data should be complete and accurate. Parent-child relationships must be correct. The migration should run without modification in a standard CodeIgniter project.
